MID-STATE RC&D DESCRIPTION

The Mid-State Resource Conservation and Development Council is a non-profit organization that links concerned citizens with the resources needed to solve local problems.

Currently serving Juniata, Mifflin, Perry, Snyder and Union Counties, the Mid-State RC&D depends on a wide range of organizations, agencies, and local businesses, including non-profits, social service and government.

From inception to completion, Mid-State RC&D empowers project sponsors by equiping them with the tools neccessary to complete projects. Tools include: networking people and organizations, locating potential grant sources, providing grant writing tips and other technical assistance.

Projects undertaken by the Mid-State RC&D reflect its overall goal - to support community and regional needes in the areas of economic improvement, natural resources, and community and recreational services.

We believe that individuals, communities and public and private organizations accross the region can work together to share responsibility and resources. Together we can: Therefore, we envision a region where the Mid-State RC&D is widely recognized as a catalyst and/or partner for supporting creative strategies and projects to serve our communities.





THE MID-STATE RC&D MISSION

"TO ADDRESS THE LONG-TERM NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITIES BY CONSERVING AND SHARING OUR COMMON RESOURCES"

To this end, we will work in partnership with citizens in Juniata, Mifflin Perry, Snyder and Union Counties. Together, we will facilitate access to financial, educational and technical resources required to support locally identified and initiated projects.

Every county in Pennsylvania belongs to an RC&D area whether official or unoffical. There are currently 9 RC&D areas on Pennsylvania They are:
There are also RC&D areas all over the United States. Each RC&D faces unique challenges and may focus on different projects. However, all RC&D's try to bring diverse groups of people together in a unique partnership to find solutions to their problems.
